Girl Scouts Meet the Force

The Chicago Force came up against some pretty tough competition and got an early look at some potential recruits on a recent Saturday afternoon. A group of Force players participated in the Girl Scout Fit Fest in Country Club Hills. The event was designed to expose the girls to various sports and activities. The Force players showed the scouts how to catch and throw a football, proper stances, and also taught them a favorite Chicago Force offensive play.

“As a member of the Hit Squad (the Force offensive line) it was fun watching the girls get excited about blocking rather than wanting to play one of the more popular positions," said Dawn Pederson.

This was a rewarding experience for the Force, especially the new players who were participating in an event like this for the first time. "I've seen a lot of intensity and heart from all these girls. I am confident that one of these scouts will be a future Chicago Force MVP!" Veronica Soper predicted.

Melissa Parker, manager of the Girl Scout healthy living program, was very pleased with the event, stating “The Force was a big hit and they did an awesome job with the girls.” Force players stayed after the event to sign autographs and answer questions. We are looking forward to seeing our newest fans at a game this season.
